From Schoolhouse to Museum
The Society Opens Its Doors
The Vassalboro Historical Society first opened, giving neighbors a place to bring their family histories, photographs, and keepsakes together.
Formally Incorporated
The Society incorporated, formalizing its mission to collect, preserve, and share the history of Vassalboro for generations to come.
A Living Museum
327 Main Street continues to grow, with new exhibits, expanded curator hours, school visits, and a steady stream of visitors tracing their own family's Vassalboro roots.
Rooted in the Community
Our home at 327 Main Street sits at the heart of East Vassalboro, just steps from Monument Park, which honors Vassalboro residents who served as far back as 1771.
The building itself has a history worth preserving, too. We're always glad to share more about it in person. Stop by during open hours and ask.
