Coffee on the Porch
A weekly gathering held with the Vassalboro Grange. The Society hosts it through the colder months so it can carry on, with stories, coffee, and good company. Call ahead to check where it’s meeting this season.
Senior-A-Tea
Older residents gather for tea, treats, and reminiscing. All seniors in the area are welcome to join.
School & Group Visits
We regularly welcome school groups for hands-on history. Recent visits have covered the Civil War and what local veterans carried, ate, and endured. Call to schedule a visit for your class or group.
Inside the Museum
Hands-On & Interactive
Try your hand at rug hooking or rug braiding, dress up in period clothing, or dig for wooden nickels at our kids' archaeology spot.
A Real Working Archive
Our library holds vital, church, cemetery, school, and town records, family Bibles, scrapbooks, and an extensive Oak Grove Seminary / Oak Grove-Coburn School collection. Staff regularly help visitors track down exactly what they're looking for.
Visitors often describe it as a genuine step back in time, especially for anyone who once attended school in this very building.
